PUMA FISHING LTDA.
operates in Chilean Patagonia's fjord land region based in the Yelcho watershed which is
considered by many anglers and fish biologists to be the home of the largest resident Rainbows, Browns, and Brook trout in all of the Chilean Patagonia.
In addition to the three trout species, this area also has significant populations of Steelhead, Sea Run Browns, Atlantic Salmon, Chinook (King) Salmon,
and Coho (Silver Salmon).  We were one of the very first operations in this region with our floating lodge/mother-ship PUMA in Lago Yelcho since 1989.
The PUMA was retired in 2006 and a brand new yacht, PUMA II now operates in the lake.  In 1998 we built a world acclaimed lodge on Rio Yelcho half way between the lake and the ocean.  From these two base operations we fish various rivers, lakes and estuaries, therefore we have a wide range of options available for the time of year and weather conditions to maximize your angling experience. All of this in a breathtaking setting of virgin forests,
glaciers, magnificent mountains, waterfalls, and volcanos.

PUMA II handles 6 fisherpersons in three double occupancy suites (each with their own bathroom and shower) and a crew of 5.
You are literally a few steps and minutes away from some of the finest dry fly fishing in the world on the rivers, and bays of Lago Yelcho
with our chilean skiffs pulled behind the yacht from the south end of the lake at Rio Futaleufu to the north end at Puerto Cardenas.
The largest Rainbow caught in 2009 was just under 8.5 kg (over 18 lb), and the largest brown just under 6.5 kg (over 14 lb); as well as Chinook Salmon to over 20 kg (over 45 lb).

 Fly Fiushing in Patagonia
The land based lodge on  Rio Yelcho handles 8 fisherpersons in two double occupancy suites in the main lodge and two private cabanas.
Each has their own bathrooms and showers and the cabanas have their own small fireplaces.  A hot tub is always ready on the front veranda.
The lodge is reached by a short boat ride or walk from the nearest road thus our clients can enjoy complete, relaxing solitude during their stay.

The cusine and service of our experience and competent staff (most of which have been with us for several years)  have received acclaim
from guests throughout the world.  For the non fishing guests (or those guests that want to take a day off from fishing) we offer trips to
the world famous PUMALIN PARK adjacent to the lodge as well as treks to glaciers in the area.
